These are photos of Portland’s march on 8/24 to commemorate the 50th anniversary of the March on Washington. Fifty years ago, as a twenty year old college student, I was there in Washington. My friends and I sat on the north side of the reflecting pool about halfway back. We heard Martin Luther King speak, and, after the ceremonies, as the event was breaking up, we had a brief conversation with Malcolm X on the streets.
The march goes on and the struggle is unfinished.
