I think high school students should have more online learning opportunities. Portland Public Schools, and the State of Oregon generally, should offer far more such opportunities. According to “the ninth annual Education Next survey, administered in May and June 2015 to a nationally representative sample of some 4,000 respondents, including oversamples of roughly 700 teachers, 700 African Americans, and 700 Hispanics” (here), majorities of the general public, parents, African Americans, Hispanics, and Whites think 30% or more of high school instructional time should be spent “receiving instruction independently through or on a computer.”
